A pharmacy opportunity in Raleigh, NC is available for an experienced IV-certified pharmacist to support infusion medication services. This 17-week contract role offers the potential to transition to a permanent position and requires flexibility in weekday shifts, with occasional weekend on-call duties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately while ensuring compliance with legal and safety regulations.
- Monitor patient medication usage to identify compliance issues and prevent overuse.
- Maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy files with precision.
- Advise patients on medication usage, possible side effects, and answer any related questions.
- Compound sterile medications following strict procedural guidelines to ensure safety and efficacy.
- Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks, promoting quality and efficiency.
- Manage inventory of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies to maintain adequate stock.
- Identify and communicate drug-related problems to physicians and healthcare teams.
- Oversee sterile compounding areas, ensuring cleanliness and adherence to USP 797 and USP 800 standards.
- Train and assess staff competency in sterile compounding tasks including cleaning, garbing, and testing.
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Must hold an active North Carolina pharmacist license.
- Proven IV/Infusion pharmacy experience is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of sterile compounding regulations and best practices.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a healthcare team environment.
- Detail-oriented with excellent communication and supervisory skills.
Shift Details:
- Flexible Monday to Friday shifts available: 8:00 am–5:00 pm, 8:30 am–5:30 pm, or 9:00 am–6:00 pm.
- Weekend on-call rotation required.
