An experienced infusion/clinical pharmacist is needed for a direct hire opportunity in Shawnee, KS, specializing in home infusion pharmacy services. This role supports patients requiring complex intravenous (IV) and subcutaneous medication therapies and serves as a critical member of a multidisciplinary care team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare specialty pharmaceuticals and IV solutions adhering to sterile compounding protocols and regulatory standards.
- Monitor clinical data, including lab values and pharmacokinetic dosing, to optimize patient therapies such as vancomycin and Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN).
- Provide detailed patient and caregiver education on infusion pump use, sterile technique, and catheter maintenance.
- Coordinate care with prescribing physicians, home health nurses, and internal teams to ensure effective therapy management and avoid hospital readmissions.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements from State Boards of Pharmacy, HIPAA, FDA, DEA, Medicare, and accreditation organizations.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including refrigeration handling, and oversee the timely and safe medication delivery process.
Qualifications / Desired Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years infusion specialty pharmacy experience.
- IVIg administration knowledge is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with specialty therapy payer requirements, reimbursement, and contract compliance.
- Current and active pharmacist license in Kansas, with additional licenses from CA, ID, IL, KY, MA, MD, MI, NV, OR, OK, TN, TX highly desirable.
- Experience with CareTend system preferred.
Schedule:
- Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Participation in on-call rotation with fewer than five after-hours calls weekly.
