Home Infusion Staff Pharmacist IV Certified in Staten Island, NY

A healthcare facility in New Hyde Park, NY is seeking two experienced pharmacists for a 13-week contract with potential for contract-to-hire based on performance. This opportunity offers the chance to work in a dynamic environment focused on home infusion services and patient-centered care.

Location: New Hyde Park, NY
Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

• Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately.
• Monitor patient medication compliance and identify over-usage patterns.
• Ensure medication supplies comply with legal regulations.
• Advise patients on medication usage, side effects, and drug interactions.
• Provide patient consultations on prescription and non-prescription drugs.
• Educate patients on the proper use of medical devices, including blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
• Compound and prepare sterile medication solutions using established procedures.
• Supervise pharmacy staff such as technicians and clerks.
• Maintain inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare practitioners to address drug-related patient issues.
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with regulations.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required.
• Current NY State Pharmacy license in hand.
• Prior experience with intravenous (IV) pharmacy services is essential.
• Home infusion pharmacy experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to supervise pharmacy staff and manage workflow efficiently.
