Home Infusion Staff Pharmacist | Staten Island, New York

A pharmacy position is available for a licensed pharmacist with IV certification to support home infusion services on a contract basis. This opportunity calls for a detail-oriented professional to oversee medication dispensing and patient compliance while ensuring regulatory standards and patient safety are maintained.

Location: Staten Island, NY
Job Type: Contract (13 weeks) with potential to convert to full-time
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

• Dispense prescription medications following established protocols
• Monitor patient medication usage and compliance diligently
• Ensure all medications are legally supplied and appropriate for patient use
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records and pharmacy files
• Provide patient consultations regarding medication administration, side effects, and drug interactions
• Offer additional patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure checks, and cholesterol management
• Educate patients on proper use of medical devices including glucose meters and blood pressure monitors
• Compound sterile medications and prepare solutions adhering to safety guidelines
• Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks to maintain workflow efficiency
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to resolve drug-related issues and optimize patient care

Qualifications and Experience:

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required
• Valid New York State pharmacist license in-hand
• Prior experience with intravenous (IV) medication preparation and home infusion pharmacy services
• Strong communication skills and commitment to patient counseling
