Long Term Care Staff Pharmacist in Kerman, CA

A Long Term Care pharmacy is seeking two dedicated Pharmacists for a 12-week contract, with potential for contract-to-hire. These positions require strong clinical knowledge and excellent communication skills to support patient care in a long-term care setting.

Location: Kerman, CA
Position Type: Contract (12 weeks, contract to hire)
Start Date: ASAP
Shift: Monday to Friday, 10:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., no weekends

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor patient medication adherence and detect over-usage or misuse patterns.
• Ensure the appropriateness and suitability of prescribed medications for patients.
• Maintain detailed and confidential patient records and pharmacy files.
• Advise patients regarding medication use, potential side effects, and answer their medication-related questions.
• Provide patient consultations on prescription and non-prescription medications, including storage, dosage, and drug interactions.
• Offer additional health services such as smoking cessation, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management.
• Educate patients on the correct use of medical devices, including blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
• Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following established protocols.
• Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks, ensuring efficient pharmacy operations.
• Maintain inventory controls for pharmaceuticals and medical supplies.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to resolve drug-related issues and improve patient outcomes.

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

• Valid California pharmacist license.
• Experience in retail pharmacy accepted; training will be provided for long-term care setting.
• Strong clinical skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare teams.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to legal pharmacy practices.
