A well-established 100-bed hospital in South Lake Tahoe is seeking a skilled Staff Pharmacist to provide expert inpatient pharmacy services. This position is ideal for a licensed pharmacist ready to step into a dynamic healthcare environment supporting patient care through efficient medication management and collaboration with clinical teams.
Responsibilities:
- Manage inpatient pharmacy operations, ensuring accuracy and safety in medication dispensing
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize pharmacotherapy plans for patients
- Utilize electronic health record (EPIC) and automated dispensing systems (Pyxis) to enhance workflow and safety
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, state regulations, and pharmacy standards
- Provide patient counseling and educate staff on new medications or protocols as needed
Qualifications:
- Valid California pharmacist license is required
- Approximately 1 year of pharmacy experience, preferably including hospital or inpatient settings
- Full-time availability to work four 10-hour shifts per week
- Familiarity with EPIC electronic health records and Pyxis medication systems is highly desirable
