This opportunity is for experienced pharmacists ready to support a busy retail/community pharmacy in La Sal, UT, on a contract basis. The role requires fluency in pharmacy operations, patient care, and medication dispensing with a focus on compliance, quality services, and optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily pharmacy operations ensuring efficiency and adherence to all regulatory standards.
  • Oversee inventory control, conduct audits, and coordinate with suppliers to maintain accurate medication stocks.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the federal 340B program, ensuring compliance and proper utilization.
  • Accurately dispense prescription medications, verify prescription authenticity, and conduct medication reviews.
  • Maintain detailed, confidential patient records including comprehensive medication profiles.
  • Administer immunizations per protocol and provide personalized medication consultations.
  • Handle customer inquiries professionally, resolve medication and insurance issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers for comprehensive medication therapy management.
  • Train and supervise pharmacy technicians and students when applicable.
  • Participate in community outreach and education efforts to promote pharmacy services.

Schedule:

  • Full-time, approximately 40 hours/week with variable shifts to cover pharmacy hours.
  • Pharmacy open Monday-Saturday from 9:30 AM to 8:30 PM, Sunday 2:30 PM to 7:30 PM.
  • Required holiday coverage includes Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day with specific hours outlined.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate from an accredited school of pharmacy.
  • Current, full, unrestricted Utah pharmacist license and controlled substance licensure.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and computer skills.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Preferred: 3+ years retail pharmacy experience, APhA Immunization Certification, and pharmacy management background.
