A full-time opportunity is available for a Compounding Pharmacist in Bakersfield, CA, on a contract basis through July 2026, with potential for permanent placement. This role focuses on sterile and non-sterile compounding within a community pharmacy setting, requiring a dedicated professional to ensure medication safety and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities include:
- Overseeing sterile and non-sterile compounding processes
- Performing final verification of prescriptions to ensure accuracy
- Filling, labeling, and prepackaging medications efficiently
- Communicating with healthcare providers for order clarifications and refills
- Counseling patients and addressing medication-related questions
- Maintaining compliance with USP 795, 797, 800 standards and Board of Pharmacy regulations
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday
- 8:15 AM to 5:15 PM
Qualifications:
- PharmD or BS in Pharmacy degree
- Active California Pharmacist license
- 3–5 years of pharmacy experience, with preference for compounding experience
- Retail pharmacy background will be considered
- Strong communication and organizational skills essential to manage workflow and patient interactions
