Staff Pharmacist | Lancaster, Ohio

Two Staff Pharmacist positions are available for a contract assignment in Lancaster, OH, at a 222-licensed bed hospital with an average daily census of 120 patients. This role demands strong inpatient hospital pharmacy experience and a commitment to excellent medication management within a dynamic healthcare setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify inpatient medication orders accurately and efficiently
• Provide oversight of sterile, non-sterile, and hazardous compounding processes
• Participate in emergency code responses as pharmacy support
• Collaborate with nursing and provider teams to optimize pharmacotherapy, including antibiotic and renal dosing
• Dispense medications and provide pertinent patient education
• Support pharmacy technicians in medication preparation and delivery, ensuring seamless pharmacy operations

Required Qualifications:

• Active Ohio Pharmacist License
• Experience with inpatient hospital pharmacy practice, specifically including Computerized Provider Entry Order (CPOE) verification, code response, and compounding oversight
• Strong knowledge of pharmacotherapy principles, antibiotic stewardship, and renal dosing adjustments
• Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Familiarity with Cerner Electronic Health Record (EHR) system preferred; training available
• Experience with Pyxis Automated Dispensing Cabinets is a plus

Schedule and Location:

• Position is Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, plus coverage every sixth weekend
• Coverage period runs from May 26, 2026, through August 14, 2026
• Location: Lancaster, Ohio
