Staff Pharmacist | Lancaster, Ohio

Two Staff Pharmacists are needed for a contract assignment supporting inpatient pharmacy services at a 222-bed hospital with an average daily census of 120 patients. This opportunity runs from May 26, 2026, through August 14, 2026, and offers a dynamic clinical environment focused on delivering exceptional medication management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify inpatient medication orders accurately and efficiently.
• Provide oversight and verification of sterile, non-sterile, and hazardous compounding processes.
• Participate in emergency codes to support critical patient care.
• Collaborate with nursing and provider staff to optimize pharmacotherapy, including antibiotic stewardship and renal dosing adjustments.
• Dispense medications and provide patient education as needed.
• Utilize Cerner EHR for computerized provider order entry (training available).
• Employ Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets to manage medication distribution effectively.
• Manage time well and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active Ohio Pharmacist License required.
• Proven inpatient hospital experience with competencies in CPOE verification, compounding oversight, and pharmacotherapy.
• Solid knowledge of hospital-based antibiotic and renal dosing protocols.
• Familiarity with Cerner electronic health records and Pyxis automation preferred; training will be provided.
• Strong time management and prioritization skills.
• Ability to participate in code response teams.

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
• Every 6th weekend coverage required
