Staff Pharmacist | Levittown, Pennsylvania

This role offers an opportunity to contribute clinical pharmacy expertise in a hospital environment, focusing on safe and effective medication use and patient care coordination.

Location: Levittown, PA
Type: Contract (temporary assignment from May 4 through August 1)
Schedule: 5 days per week, 8-hour day shifts

Key Responsibilities:

• Review medication orders from physicians and physician extenders to ensure appropriateness of drug choice, dose, frequency, and route of administration
• Assess patient allergies, medical history, drug interactions, and lab results to identify potential clinical conflicts before dispensing medications
• Manage inventory control and ensure accuracy in medication preparation
• Provide drug information and consult with healthcare team members to support optimal patient care
• Supervise pharmacy students and technicians during medication preparation, maintaining safety and accuracy standards
• Collaborate with the healthcare team on discharge planning and continuity of care

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy required; Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree preferred
• Minimum of 1 year hospital or clinical pharmacy experience, or Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) preferred
• Active Pennsylvania Pharmacist License required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred
