Per Diem Staff Pharmacist in Lewiston, ME

Location: Portland, ME
Job Type: Per Diem (PRN)
Schedule:

• Approximately 2 days per month with flexible scheduling
• Additional PRN coverage opportunities available as needed

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and process physician orders, verifying insurance benefits efficiently
• Perform sterile compounding and maintain cleanroom operations according to USP 797 standards
• Ensure safe dispensing of medications and infusion-related supplies
• Maintain accurate patient and pharmacy records in compliance with federal and state regulations
• Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, nurses, and healthcare team members
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff to uphold quality and safety
• Manage assigned patient caseloads and provide pharmacist coverage as needed

Qualifications:

• Active Maine Pharmacist License in good standing
• Minimum of 1 year pharmacy experience; 2+ years clinical pharmacy experience preferred
• Proven experience in infusion therapy and sterile compounding
• Thorough knowledge of USP 797 sterile compounding standards
• Strong communication, multitasking, time management, and critical-thinking abilities
