Staff Pharmacist - Littleton, CO

This opportunity is for a knowledgeable and flexible staff pharmacist available for a 13-week contract in Littleton, CO, with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent role based on performance. The position requires adaptability to work day and evening shifts, including rotating weekends, with hours starting as early as 7 a.m. and ending as late as 11 p.m.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accept and dispense prescription medications while monitoring patient medication compliance and preventing overuse
• Ensure all medications are dispensed in accordance with applicable laws and are suitable for patient use
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records and pharmacy files
• Provide patients with clear guidance on medication usage, possible reactions, and answer inquiries
• Offer consultations on prescription and over-the-counter medications, covering storage, dosages, side effects, and interactions
• Deliver additional patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management
• Educate patients on the proper use of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters
• Compound medications when necessary and prepare sterile solutions following established protocols
• Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks to ensure smooth operations
• Manage inventory efficiently to maintain appropriate pharmaceutical and medical supplies
• Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals including physicians and nurses to identify and resolve drug-related problems

Qualifications:

• Valid Colorado pharmacist license is required
• Retail pharmacists are welcome, and training will be provided as needed
• Flexibility to work varied shifts and weekends is essential
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail are critical for patient safety and regulatory compliance
