A pharmacy technician role is available in the Los Angeles area, ideal for a candidate seeking an interim inpatient technician position with a reputable healthcare facility. This contract opportunity begins with a full-time commitment of approximately one month, transitioning to a PRN schedule afterward, offering flexibility for local professionals.

Location: Long Beach, CA

Key Responsibilities:

• Support inpatient pharmacy operations, including IV compounding and filling Pyxis automation systems.
• Assist with medication distribution and management within a licensed 117-bed facility with an average daily census of 44 patients.
• Collaborate with pharmacy staff for efficient shift coverage and medication order processing using Paragon/Allscripts order entry systems.
• Adapt to rotating shifts with hours ranging from 7:30 AM to 8:30 PM on weekdays, and 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM on weekends.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active California state pharmacy technician license mandatory.
• Proficiency in IV compounding techniques.
• Experience operating Pyxis automation systems.
• Familiarity with Paragon or Allscripts order entry software is highly beneficial.
• Availability for immediate coverage with a commitment to approximately 40 hours per week for four weeks.
• Willingness to continue in a flexible PRN role following the initial full-time period.

Schedule:

• Rotating shifts: 07:30-16:00 and 12:00-20:30 on weekdays.
• Weekend shifts: 08:00-16:30.
