This role offers the opportunity to work with a specialty retail pharmacy focused on managing complex medication regimens for patients with advanced and chronic conditions. You will provide expert pharmaceutical care to a patient population primarily consisting of Medicare/Medicaid and low-income individuals who often require compassionate communication and tailored medication guidance.

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately dispense and manage medications for patients taking 8-15 drugs daily
  • Provide thorough patient consultations addressing complex disease states such as diabetes, hypertension, and multiple sclerosis
  • Utilize strong communication and patient education skills to ensure understanding, especially for those with low literacy
  • Employ specialized pharmacy software to maintain accurate patient records and medication histories
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care and medication outcomes

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

  • Proven experience in retail and/or specialty pharmacy settings
  • Demonstrated expertise in disease state management and patient consultation
  • Familiarity with the top 200-400 drugs commonly dispensed in retail pharmacies
  • Compassionate approach with excellent patience and communication competencies
  • Comfortable working with Medicare/Medicaid populations and diverse socioeconomic backgrounds
  • Proficiency with pharmacy software; experience with Pioneer Rx is a plus

Schedule:

  • Per diem role with scheduled shifts from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM on specific dates:
    • Tuesday, February 3
    • Thursday, February 5
    • Tuesday, February 10
    • Thursday, February 12
    • Friday, February 13

Location: Lorain, OH
