An opportunity is available for a licensed Pharmacy Technician to support inpatient services in the Los Angeles area. This role offers a full-time schedule for approximately one month, transitioning to a PRN position thereafter, ideal for local candidates interested in continued flexible work.

Role Overview:

  • Support inpatient pharmacy operations in a 117-bed facility with an average daily census of 44.
  • The position requires strong skills in IV compounding and medication preparation.
  • Experienced use of Pyxis automation systems and proficiency in order entry using Paragon/Allscripts are essential.
  • The role demands a California state pharmacy technician license.

Schedule:

  • Full-time for approximately 4 weeks (40 hours per week), then transitioning to PRN as needed.
  • Shifts rotate among staff and include:
    • 07:30 AM to 04:00 PM
    • 12:00 PM to 08:30 PM
    • Weekend shifts: 08:00 AM to 04:30 PM (Saturday and Sunday)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and compound intravenous medications according to protocols.
  • Accurately fill and manage Pyxis medication dispensing systems.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with pharmacy staff to maintain efficient workflow.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current California pharmacy technician license required.
  • Demonstrated experience in inpatient pharmacy settings.
  • Expertise in IV compounding practices.
  • Familiarity with Pyxis and Paragon/Allscripts systems.
