Staff Pharmacist - Lubbock, Texas

A specialized opportunity is available for a licensed pharmacist to provide expert care in a children’s hospital setting. This role focuses on delivering high-quality pharmaceutical support on the night shift, ideal for a candidate with a passion for pediatric care and inpatient pharmacy services.

Location: Lubbock, TX
Job Type: Contract (6-month assignment)
Start Date: ASAP
Shift: Night shift (2000 – 0630), 7 days on, 7 days off
Potential Opportunity: Transition to day shift later in the year to cover FMLA through January 13, 2027

Responsibilities:

• Accurately prepare and dispense medications for pediatric inpatients
• Utilize EPIC and Pyxis systems effectively to manage medication orders and inventory
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure safe and effective medication use
• Monitor patient responses and adjust pharmaceutical care plans as necessary
• Maintain compliance with all hospital and regulatory standards

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Active Texas pharmacist license
• Previous experience in inpatient pharmacy environments
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical record system and Pyxis medication management
• Pediatric pharmacy experience strongly preferred
• Ability to work independently and manage overnight responsibilities with accuracy and professionalism
