Pharmacist in Lumberton, NC

A regional medical center with 300 beds is seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated night shift pharmacist to provide excellent pharmaceutical care. This role is based in Lumberton, NC, located conveniently between Charlotte and Wilmington, just a couple of hours from Charlotte and near Fayetteville.

This contract assignment offers an ASAP start date and spans 13 weeks initially, with the potential to extend or transition to a permanent position. The schedule is a unique 7-on, 7-off rotation, covering nights from 9:00 PM to 7:30 AM, Thursday through Wednesday.

Key responsibilities include:

• Order verification and dispensing medications efficiently
• Supervising and guiding pharmacy technicians
• Collaborating with physicians and nursing staff to optimize medication use
• Applying pharmacokinetics principles to patient care
• Managing all pharmacy operations independently during shift hours

Ideal candidates will have:

• Solid experience working as a sole pharmacist in an inpatient setting
• Active North Carolina pharmacist license
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical records and Pyxis automated dispensing systems
• Strong clinical judgment and the ability to work independently overnight
