Pharmacist in Marana, AZ

A healthcare facility in the Tucson, AZ area is seeking a skilled Pharmacist for a 13-week contract opportunity, with the potential for temp-to-perm placement. This role is located on a 20-bed campus in a suburban setting, offering a focused environment within a community hospital.

Schedule:

• Day shifts
• Monday through Friday
• Start date: ASAP

Responsibilities:

• Ensure safe, accurate, and efficient distribution of pharmaceutical agents to patients of all ages and hospital staff
• Collaborate closely with physicians regarding drug selection and dosing
• Provide education on medications to nursing staff, physicians, and patients
• Participate in medication safety initiatives and maintain narcotic accountability
• Manage patient profiles and monitor for adverse drug reactions, including reporting and avoidance strategies
• Prepare IV admixtures and nutritional supplements in accordance with standards
• Adhere to all state, federal, DEA laws, Joint Commission standards, and internal policies

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years hospital pharmacy experience, including work in high-acuity acute care settings
• Experience with NICU patients and cardiac cases, including technologies such as Impella and ECMO
• Strong knowledge of medication safety and regulatory standards
