A 150-bed community hospital in Western North Carolina is seeking two experienced pharmacists to support their pharmacy team. This opportunity is available for contract, temp-to-hire, or permanent placement, offering flexibility for qualified candidates interested in contributing to patient care in a dynamic hospital setting.

Location: Morganton, NC
Position: Staff Pharmacist
Schedule: 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts (mix of day and afternoon shifts; afternoon shifts run 10:30 am to 9:00 pm)
Hospital Size: 150 beds
Start Date: Immediate to soon

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify medication orders with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians ensuring compliance and efficiency
  • Engage in pharmacokinetics to optimize dosing for patient safety and efficacy
  • Collaborate closely with physicians and nursing staff to provide consultative support and improve patient outcomes
  • Utilize EPIC and Pyxis systems for order processing and medication management

Desired Qualifications:

  • Licensed pharmacist with hospital experience
  • Proficient in EPIC and Pyxis or similar healthcare information systems
  • Strong understanding of pharmacokinetics and clinical pharmacy practices
  • Effective communication and leadership skills to oversee technician workflow and multidisciplinary collaboration
  • Ability to adapt to varied shifts and work in fast-paced environments
