Staff Pharmacist in Marlinton, WV

This role offers a rewarding opportunity to manage pharmacy operations within a hospital-owned retail setting that blends traditional pharmacy services with a community-centered atmosphere. The pharmacy includes a gift and coffee shop, welcoming patients and visitors while providing essential healthcare services.

Assignment Details:

• Location: Marlinton, WV
• Schedule: 2 days per week, ideally Tuesday and Wednesday
• Hours: 7:30 am – 6:00 pm (10-hour shifts with 30-minute lunch)
• Duration: 12-week contract beginning 9/8
• Prescription Volume: Approximately 4,000 scripts per month
• Software: Pioneer RX

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily operations and direct pharmacy technicians and staff pharmacists
• Verify, dispense, and ensure accurate medication distribution and safety
• Manage inventory, medication stock, and formulary control
• Maintain compliance with controlled substance regulations and documentation
• Administer and oversee the 340B program and compliance requirements
• Handle billing, claims submission, and reconciliation processes
• Work with EHR and pharmacy systems, with training provided if needed
• Support quality improvement initiatives to optimize workflow
• Administer immunizations to patients

Desired Qualifications:

• Active and clear West Virginia pharmacist license
• Experience with Pioneer RX preferred
• Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy; PharmD preferred but not mandatory
• Current CPR and immunization certifications
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
