Retail Staff Pharmacist in Marrero, LA

A specialty retail pharmacy is seeking a dedicated pharmacist for a 6-week, full-time assignment in Marrero, LA, starting Monday, November 9th through December 31st. This role focuses on providing expert pharmaceutical care to patients with complex medication regimens in a supportive and patient-centered environment. The position operates Monday through Friday, utilizing the Pioneer Rx system.

Responsibilities:

• Provide thorough medication consultation to patients managing 8-15 daily medications
• Deliver compassionate care and education tailored to patients with complex chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and multiple sclerosis
• Utilize strong communication skills to assist a patient population primarily consisting of Medicare/Medicaid and low-income individuals with varying levels of health literacy
• Ensure accurate dispensing and monitoring of medications in accordance with pharmacy protocols and standards

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

• Licensed pharmacist in Louisiana
• Robust retail pharmacy experience is essential; specialty pharmacy experience is highly preferred
• Proficient knowledge of the top 200-400 retail medications
• Strong disease state management and patient consultation skills, particularly with advanced chronic illnesses
• Demonstrated patience, compassion, and effective communication abilities to support complex patient needs
