Staff Pharmacist | Medina, Ohio

A contract opportunity is available for an experienced retail pharmacist to provide critical coverage in the Medina, OH area for 4-6 weeks, with potential extension until a long-term solution is found. The role focuses on delivering exceptional pharmaceutical care to a diverse patient population, including Medicare/Medicaid recipients and low-income individuals, many with limited literacy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough patient consultations with a focus on chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and multiple sclerosis.
• Dispense medications accurately and counsel patients regarding their proper use.
• Utilize Pioneer Rx software to manage prescriptions and maintain patient records.
• Demonstrate compassion and patience when interacting with patients who may have low health literacy.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize medication therapy outcomes.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Licensed retail or specialty pharmacist with proven experience in patient consultation.
• Strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis on empathetic communication.
• Proficiency with Pioneer Rx or similar pharmacy software.
• Comfortable working with vulnerable populations including Medicare/Medicaid and low-income patients.
• Ability to educate patients managing complex chronic conditions.

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday
• 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
