This opening seeks an experienced inpatient pharmacist to support a large Level I Trauma Center pediatric hospital with 1500 beds, offering a mix of clinical and operational roles. The position is a 13-week contract starting in late September, ideal for licensed pharmacists with a solid background in inpatient pharmacy and interest or exposure in pediatric and women’s health.

Location: Meriden, CT (Hospital campus nearby)

Schedule:

  • Rotating shifts including days and evenings
  • Weekends required on a rotating basis
  • Five 8-hour shifts per week

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dispense medications and provide pharmaceutical care in an inpatient hospital setting
  • Support pediatric and women’s health units, either clinically or operationally
  • Potential roles include Pharmacist In Charge or sterile processing oversight
  • Utilize EPIC and Pyxis systems for medication management
  • Participate in orientation and training hours beyond billable shifts

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of inpatient pharmacy experience or 2-3 years plus PGY1 residency training
  • Connecticut pharmacist license (temporary licenses available within 7-10 business days for out-of-state pharmacists)
  • Exposure to children’s and women’s health preferred
  • Familiarity with clinical workflows and operational aspects of hospital pharmacy
  • Demonstrated competence to work independently in clinical or management roles

  • Added non-billable hours for training and orientation (16 hours)
