Retail Staff Pharmacist in Mesa, AZ

A specialty pharmacy seeks two experienced pharmacists with a proven background working specifically within specialty pharmacy settings. This contract role offers the opportunity to support patients with rare diseases through high-touch patient and provider communication while managing rare and orphan drug therapies.

Location: Mesa, AZ
Job Type: Contract, 13 weeks with possible direct hire
Shift: Monday to Friday, day shift
Start Date: ASAP

Key Responsibilities:

• Dispense and manage medications for rare and orphan diseases within a specialty pharmacy environment
• Provide expert guidance to patients and healthcare providers on drug approvals, financial assistance programs, grants, rebates, and cost navigation
• Maintain strong communication and clinical support between providers and patients to ensure optimal treatment plans and adherence
• Collaborate with the pharmacy team to handle complex cases involving expensive specialty pharmaceuticals

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Demonstrated experience working in a designated specialty pharmacy (retail pharmacy experience alone is not sufficient)
• In-depth knowledge of rare and orphan drug therapies and related approval/payment processes
• Strong clinical skills paired with excellent communication abilities for patient and provider interactions
• Ability to handle high-touch patient support and navigate complex medical and financial pathways
