A pharmacy opportunity is available for a licensed pharmacist to provide dedicated pharmaceutical care in a long-term care setting. This contract position requires flexibility in working hours and offers the chance to apply clinical knowledge in medication dispensing and patient consultation.

- Schedule: Flexible shifts including 9:30 AM–6:00 PM, 10:00 AM–6:30 PM, or 11:00 AM–8:30 PM with rotating weekend coverage
Key Responsibilities:
- Dispense prescription medications accurately and in compliance with legal requirements
- Monitor patient medication adherence and detect over-usage patterns
- Maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy files with precision
- Counsel patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and answer related inquiries
- Provide consultations on prescription and over-the-counter medications regarding dosage, storage, interactions, and side effects
- Deliver additional patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure measurement, and cholesterol management
- Educate patients on usage and handling of medical devices, e.g., glucose meters and blood pressure monitors
- Compound medications for internal and external use and prepare sterile solutions as required
- Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks to ensure efficient pharmacy operations
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including physicians and nurses, to optimize patient care and resolve drug-related problems
Qualifications:
- Valid Minnesota pharmacist license required (license in-hand)
- Willingness to train and support retail pharmacists is a plus
- Experience in long-term care pharmacy preferred but not mandatory
