Staff Pharmacist - Minneapolis, MN

A Minneapolis-based pharmacy is seeking a dedicated Staff Pharmacist for a 13-week contract position to provide essential pharmaceutical services with flexibility in shifts. This opportunity is a priority backfill to support ongoing operations following a recent departure, ideal for retail pharmacists looking to expand their experience in a clinical setting.

Location: Minneapolis, MN
Job Type: Contract – 13 weeks
Schedule:

• Flexible shifts between 9:30 AM–6:00 PM, 10:00 AM–6:30 PM, or 11:00 AM–8:30 PM
• Rotating weekend coverage (Saturday & Sunday)

Responsibilities:

• Accurately dispense prescription medications and monitor patient compliance and usage patterns
• Ensure medication supplies comply with legal standards and that prescribed medications are appropriate for patients
• Maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy files with precision
• Counsel patients on medication usage, possible side effects, and answer medication-related queries
• Provide consultations on both prescription and OTC drugs, including storage, dosage, side effects, and interactions
• Offer additional patient services such as smoking cessation programs, blood pressure checks, and cholesterol management
• Educate patients on the proper use of medical devices like blood pressure and glucose monitors
• Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions according to protocol
• Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks to ensure smooth pharmacy operations
• Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals including physicians and nurses to resolve drug-related issues

Qualifications:

• Active Minnesota pharmacist license required
• Previous retail pharmacy experience preferred, but candidates willing to learn and grow in the role will be considered
