Staff Pharmacist - Minneapolis, Minnesota

A dynamic opportunity is available for a Staff Pharmacist to support ongoing pharmacy operations in Minneapolis, MN on a 13-week contract basis. This is a priority backfill for an urgent Soliant fall-off, ideal for a licensed professional ready to start immediately.

Schedule:

• Shift flexibility required: 9:30 AM–6:00 PM, 10:00 AM–6:30 PM, or 11:00 AM–8:30 PM
• Rotating weekend coverage (Saturday & Sunday)

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications
• Monitor patient medication compliance and detect over-usage trends
• Ensure all medication supply complies with applicable laws and regulations
• Verify appropriateness of prescribed drugs for each patient
• Maintain confidential and precise patient and pharmacy records
• Provide expert consultation on prescription and OTC medications, including usage, side effects, and interactions
• Deliver patient services such as smoking cessation counseling, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol education
• Instruct patients on usage of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters
• Compound medications for internal and external use, preparing sterile solutions with strict adherence to protocols
• Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks to maintain efficient operations
• Manage pharmacy inventory to ensure availability of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and pharmacy team members to address drug-related issues and optimize patient care

Qualifications:

• Active Minnesota pharmacist license required
• Retail pharmacist experience welcomed; training support provided
• Availability for immediate start highly preferred
