Staff Pharmacist - Minneapolis, Minnesota

This opportunity calls for a Staff Pharmacist to join a healthcare facility in the Minneapolis, MN area on a 13-week contract. Location: Minneapolis, MN
Position: Staff Pharmacist (Contract – 13 weeks)
Start Date: ASAP
Schedule: Flexible shifts including 9:30 am–6:00 pm, 10:00 am–6:30 pm, or 11:00 am–8:30 pm with rotating weekend (Saturday & Sunday) coverage.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
• Monitor medication adherence and usage to detect potential overuse.
• Maintain confidential and accurate patient records.
• Provide detailed counseling to patients regarding proper medication use, possible reactions, side effects, and drug interactions.
• Offer additional patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management.
• Educate patients in the correct use of medical devices like glucose meters and blood pressure monitors.
• Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions in compliance with procedural standards.
• Lead and supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks, ensuring smooth operation.
• Manage pharmaceutical inventory efficiently.
• Identify patient drug-related issues and communicate effectively with healthcare practitioners including physicians and nurses.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Licensed Pharmacist with a valid Minnesota license in-hand.
• Candidates with retail pharmacy experience are welcome; willingness to train is provided.
• Ability to work flexible shifts including rotating weekends is essential.
• Strong communication skills and commitment to patient care.
• Prior experience supervising staff and managing inventory beneficial.
