Providing pharmaceutical care through effective medication management is critical in this hospital setting. This opportunity involves working as a staff pharmacist in a fast-paced inpatient environment, supporting patients ranging from pediatric to adult populations. The position requires managing medication processes, preventing and resolving drug-related issues, and ensuring safety in medication dosing and dispensing.

Location: Montgomery, TX
Job Type: Contract (13 weeks)
Start Date: September 21
Shift: Days, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.), rotating weekends
EMR System: EPIC

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote pharmaceutical care by overseeing medication management for inpatient populations.
  • Verify appropriateness of medication doses considering diagnosis, patient weight, allergies, and potential drug interactions, ensuring zero medication incidents.
  • Accurately enter medication orders into the pharmacy system and ensure timely processing and delivery within guidelines.
  • Guarantee the correctness of medications dispensed, maintaining a record free of dispensing errors.
  • Adhere strictly to aseptic technique and infection control in sterile product preparation; support and enforce these standards among pharmacy staff.
  • Complete annual re-certification with a minimum 90% score on aseptic technique and infection control skills.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Current Texas pharmacist license.
  • ACPE IV Certification.
  • Minimum of 2 years recent inpatient pharmacy experience is mandatory; pediatric experience preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency with EPIC EMR system preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
