A busy retail pharmacy in Mount Sterling, Kentucky is seeking a full-time Staff Pharmacist to provide expert pharmaceutical care in a fast-paced environment. This role offers a contract to hire opportunity, ideal for pharmacists with recent retail experience looking to make a positive impact on patient health while working alongside a dedicated pharmacy team.

Location: Mount Sterling, Kentucky
Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (four weekdays per week)
  • Saturday coverage 1 to 2 times per month, 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Responsibilities:

  • Verify prescriptions for accuracy and completeness
  • Counsel patients on medication usage and answer inquiries
  • Oversee pharmacy workflow and support pharmacy technicians
  • Utilize PioneerRx system to process and manage prescriptions
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal pharmacy regulations
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to patients and pharmacy staff
  • Assist with scheduling and Saturday coverage as needed

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Active Kentucky Pharmacist license in good standing
  • Recent retail pharmacy experience preferred
  • Familiarity with PioneerRx pharmacy management system preferred
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume pharmacy (approx. 3,000 prescriptions weekly)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Flexibility to provide coverage on Saturdays 1 to 2 times per month

This role offers an opportunity to join a well-staffed pharmacy environment with excellent technician support—two pharmacists and five to six technicians during weekdays, one pharmacist and three to four technicians on Saturdays.
