Staff Pharmacist in Mount Sterling, KY

A busy retail pharmacy in Mount Sterling, Kentucky, is seeking a dedicated full-time Staff Pharmacist to join a well-supported team. This position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment with collaborative pharmacy technicians and fellow pharmacists, ensuring efficient daily operations and excellent patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Verify prescriptions and ensure accuracy in dispensing medications
• Provide comprehensive patient counseling and address medication-related inquiries
• Oversee pharmacy workflow and support technician activities
• Utilize PioneerRx system for prescription processing and management
• Ensure compliance with all state and federal pharmacy regulations
• Maintain high standards of customer service for patients and staff
• Assist with Saturday coverage approximately 1 to 2 times per month

Qualifications:

• Active Kentucky Pharmacist license in good standing
• Recent retail pharmacy experience preferred
• Familiarity with PioneerRx is an advantage
• Ability to thrive in a high-volume pharmacy setting (approximately 3,000 prescriptions weekly)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team
• Flexibility to provide Saturday coverage as required

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM (working four weekdays)
• Saturday shifts typically 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, 1 to 2 times per month

Work Environment:

• Retail pharmacy staffed with two pharmacists and 5-6 technicians on weekdays, and one pharmacist with 3-4 technicians on Saturdays
• Supportive team environment with a focus on accuracy and patient care
