Staff Pharmacist in Mount Sterling, KY

A busy retail pharmacy located in Mount Sterling, Kentucky, seeks a full-time Staff Pharmacist to support daily pharmacy operations. This role involves working primarily Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with occasional Saturday shifts (1 to 2 times per month) from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The pharmacy processes approximately 3,000 prescriptions weekly and is staffed by two pharmacists and several technicians on weekdays, with reduced coverage on Saturdays.

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify and accurately dispense prescriptions in compliance with state and federal regulations
• Provide thorough patient counseling and answer medication-related questions
• Oversee pharmacy workflow, coordinating support from technicians
• Utilize PioneerRx system for prescription processing and management
• Ensure adherence to pharmacy standards and maintain a high level of customer service
• Assist with Saturday coverage as scheduled

Qualifications and Experience:

• Active Kentucky Pharmacist license in good standing
• Recent experience in retail pharmacy preferred
• Familiarity with PioneerRx system preferred
• Ability to work effectively in a high-volume pharmacy environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
• Flexibility to cover Saturdays 1 to 2 times per month

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM (four days per week)
• Saturday coverage expected 1 to 2 times per month from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM

This position is offered on a contract-to-hire basis and provides a competitive hourly rate of $63.
