A pharmacy professional role is open for a skilled Staff Pharmacist to provide expert pharmaceutical care within a hospital setting. This position supports a critical transition period as the facility converts from Meditech to Epic EMR systems. The assignment begins mid-March and extends approximately 20 weeks with a flexible start date and rotating shifts.

Job Type: Contract
Schedule:

  • Rotating day/evening shifts, 40 hours per week
  • Start times at 06:30 or 08:00, Monday to Friday
  • Rotating weekends, 07:00–12:00

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and dispense medication orders accurately in alignment with physician requests.
  • Maintain medication stock in patient care areas and ensure regulatory compliance for controlled substances.
  • Monitor drug therapy regimens for interactions, allergies, and appropriateness.
  • Perform pharmacokinetic dosing and review culture & sensitivity data to guide antibiotic therapy.
  • Provide clinical consultation and clear drug information to practitioners and patients.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and serve as a member of the Code Response Team.
  • Document all clinical activities comprehensively.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Active Colorado Pharmacist License in good standing.
  • Graduate from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a BS degree.
  • Experience with Epic EMR is mandatory; Meditech knowledge is advantageous.
  • Certification in BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association.
  • Flu vaccination required (no exemptions during October 1st – April 1st).
