Staff Pharmacist in New Castle, CO

This contract opportunity offers a 20-week assignment for a Staff Pharmacist with essential EPIC system experience. The role is located in New Castle, CO, and requires starting on or around 3/17, with flexibility to adjust the assignment length to fit your start date. You will support a healthcare facility during its transition from Meditech to EPIC electronic medical records, making your expertise vital to the project's success.

Schedule:

• Rotating day/evening shifts, 40 hours per week
• Weekdays starting at either 0630 or 0800
• Rotating weekends working 0700-1200

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately prepare and dispense medication orders following physician requests and policies
• Maintain medication stock and ensure safe, cost-effective drug therapies
• Interpret medication orders and maintain computerized patient medication profiles
• Compound and dispense pharmaceuticals including IV admixtures and chemotherapy
• Monitor drug therapy regimens for contraindications and interactions
• Perform pharmacokinetic dosing and review antibiotic appropriateness
• Provide clinical consultation, drug information, and medication education to staff, patients, and families
• Participate in quality improvement activities, training programs, and serve as a member of the Code Response Team

Qualifications:

• Active Colorado Pharmacist License in good standing
• Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a BS Pharmacy degree
• BLS and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (Oct 1–Apr 1) – no exemptions allowed
• Proven EPIC system experience is a must; Meditech training considered a plus
