Travel Staff Pharmacist | New Castle, Colorado

A 20-week travel pharmacist opportunity is available in New Castle, CO, beginning May 5th. This role supports a facility transitioning its EMR system from Meditech to Epic, requiring expertise with Epic and preferred knowledge of Meditech. The position features a rotating 40-hour workweek with shifts starting at 6:30 AM or 8:00 AM Monday through Friday, plus rotating weekend shifts from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

Key responsibilities include preparing and dispensing medication orders per physician requests, maintaining medication stock, and ensuring safe, cost-effective medication therapies in compliance with policies and regulations. The pharmacist will interpret medication orders, compound and dispense pharmaceuticals—including IV admixtures, chemotherapy, and parenteral nutrition—monitor drug therapies for interactions and appropriateness, and perform pharmacokinetic dosing per protocol.

Additional duties involve reviewing culture and sensitivity data for antibiotic appropriateness, providing clinical consultations, education, and drug information to healthcare providers and patients, documenting clinical activities, participating in quality improvement programs, and serving as a member of the Code Response Team.

Qualifications:

• Active Colorado Pharmacist license in good standing
• Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a BS Pharmacy degree
• BLS and ACLS certification through the American Heart Association
• Experience with Epic is a must; Meditech experience a plus
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions), valid from October 1 through April 1
