A long-term care (LTC) pharmacy requires a dedicated pharmacist to join their team as a direct hire in the New Haven, CT area. This role focuses on prescription verification with opportunities to expand responsibilities to more advanced verification tasks through training. Flexibility to work two distinct weekday shifts and occasional Saturdays is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform Prescription Verification Level 2 (PV2), ensuring accuracy and safety in medication dispensing.
- Train and develop skills to manage Prescription Verification Level 1 (PV1) tasks as aptitude allows.
- Manage high volume prescription processing efficiently.
- Utilize the Frameworks pharmacy system for daily operations.
- Provide occasional support on Saturdays as needed.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Current Connecticut pharmacist license is required.
- Experience in long-term care pharmacy is preferred.
- Retail pharmacy experience considered with eagerness to handle high-volume work.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in prescription verification.
- Ability to adapt to different shift schedules (8:00 am–4:30 pm and 8:30 am–5:00 pm).
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday with flexibility between two shifts.
- Potential for some Saturday hours in the future.
