Per Diem Staff Pharmacist - New Orleans, LA

A healthcare facility in New Orleans, LA is seeking a licensed pharmacist to provide per diem coverage in an inpatient setting. This opportunity is ideal for pharmacists experienced in inpatient pharmacy practices and intravenous (IV) medication preparation who hold an active Louisiana pharmacist license.

Location: New Orleans, LA
Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
• On-call Monday through Thursday evenings from 2:30 PM to 6:00 AM
• No weekend coverage required

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform order entry using Thrive system (training available)
• Prepare and dispense intravenous medications and immediate-use sterile compounding
• Manage Pyxis automation system including replenishment (training available)
• Provide pharmacy support for specialty areas including reconstructive/plastic and orthopedic surgeries
• Handle pharmacy duties without technician assistance

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Licensed pharmacist in the state of Louisiana
• Experience in inpatient pharmacy operations and IV preparation
• Familiarity with Thrive order entry system and Pyxis automation preferred, but training will be provided
• Ability to adhere to sterile compounding standards
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Local candidates are highly preferred to facilitate on-call responsibilities

Additional Details:

• Position requires wearing black scrubs during shifts
• Training with Pharmacy Director scheduled prior to coverage beginning June 22nd
• Coverage dates from June 22nd through July 8th
