Per Diem Staff Pharmacist | New Orleans, Louisiana

Provide essential pharmacy services as a Staff Pharmacist in a surgical hospital setting focused on reconstructive, plastic, and orthopedic surgeries. This per diem role is based in New Orleans, LA, and requires inpatient and IV pharmacy expertise. Candidates must hold a valid Louisiana Pharmacist license.

Location: New Orleans, LA 70130

Schedule:

• Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
• On-call Monday through Thursday evenings (2:30 PM to 6:00 AM)
• No weekend coverage

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately enter medication orders using the Thrive system (training provided before start)
• Prepare and dispense intravenous medications and sterile compounds for immediate use
• Replenish automated dispensing cabinets (Pyxis system) with medication stock (training provided)
• Provide on-call pharmacy services after hours Monday to Thursday
• Adhere to a black scrubs dress code

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active Louisiana Pharmacist license required
• Experience with inpatient pharmacy operations and intravenous medication preparation
• Familiarity with Thrive and Pyxis systems preferred; thorough training to be provided prior to assignment
• Ability to work independently due to no on-site technician support
• Local candidates preferred for ease of access and responsiveness

This opportunity offers a flexible per diem schedule within a specialized surgical hospital environment. Candidates should be available for training prior to the June 22 start date and able to cover the assignment through July 8.
