A specialty pharmacy is seeking two experienced pharmacists with a strong background in managing rare and orphan drug therapies. This role involves supporting patients with rare diseases by helping navigate complex approval processes, insurance coverage, and financial assistance programs. Communication with patients and providers is highly personalized to ensure optimal care and access to costly specialty medications.
Responsibilities:
- Dispense specialty pharmaceuticals with accuracy and adherence to protocols
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and patients to facilitate drug approvals and reimbursement
- Assist patients in utilizing grants, rebates, and financial assistance programs
- Maintain thorough documentation and compliance with specialty pharmacy regulations
- Utilize McKesson Enterprise (ERx) system for pharmacy operations
Qualifications:
- Active pharmacist license in Arizona, clear and in good standing
- Prior employment in a designated specialty pharmacy (retail or mail order)
- Demonstrated experience working with specialty medications, particularly for rare diseases
- Strong clinical knowledge and excellent communication skills to support patients and providers
- Ability to handle high-touch interactions and complex drug therapy management

Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, day shifts
This is a contract position expected to last approximately 13 weeks with potential to convert to direct hire. Start date is immediate.
