Staff Pharmacist - Newberry Springs, California

A community hospital located in a desert setting between Los Angeles and Las Vegas is seeking a skilled pharmacist to support its pharmacy team. Location: Barstow area, CA (with work at nearby Newberry Springs)
Job Type: Contract
Duration: 13 weeks
Schedule: Four 10-hour day shifts per week
On-Call: Minimal call duty supported by remote order processing services

Responsibilities:

• Dispense medications accurately using MedHost EMR and Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets
• Utilize Sentri 7 Clinical Surveillance software to monitor patient medication safety
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals in a 60-bed hospital environment to ensure optimal pharmaceutical care
• Participate in quality assurance and regulatory compliance activities related to pharmacy operations

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

• Valid California pharmacist license
• Prior hospital pharmacy experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of hospital pharmacy workflow and medication safety standards
• Ability to adapt to technical systems such as MedHost, Sentri 7, and Pyxis ADCs
