Inpatient Staff Pharmacist - Norfolk, VA

An inpatient pharmacist position is available on a 13-week contract, starting September 28th, in Norfolk, VA. This role focuses on providing comprehensive medication management in a hospital inpatient setting with various shift options to accommodate different schedules.

Schedule/Hours:

• Day shifts: 0630–1500, 0730–1600, 0900–1730, 1000–1830
• Evening shifts: 1300–2130, 1430–2300
• Overnight shifts: 1930–0730, 2030–0730

Responsibilities:

• Verify and process medication orders accurately
• Manage IV medications, pain control analgesia, and antibiotics
• Monitor drug interactions and ensure safe medication use
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide optimal patient care
• Utilize EPIC for EMR charting and order entry
• Apply knowledge of chemotherapy protocols, anticoagulants, pharmacokinetic dosing, and renal dosing (preferred)

Qualifications & Experience:

• Must have a valid VA pharmacy license in hand
• Minimum of 1 year inpatient pharmacy experience required
• Experience with IV medications, pain management, antibiotic therapy, and medication order verification
• Familiarity with chemotherapy, anticoagulation therapy, pharmacokinetic and renal dosing is preferred
• Proficiency with EPIC health record system is required
• Prior travel pharmacy experience is an advantage
