We are seeking a skilled Inpatient Pharmacist for a 13-week contract assignment with a respected healthcare facility in Virginia. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside a multidisciplinary clinical team while utilizing your expertise in medication management, order verification, and patient safety.
Assignment Details
Start Date: Late June 2026
Duration: 13 Weeks
Setting: Hospital Inpatient Pharmacy
Schedule: Rotating shifts, including days, evenings, and overnights
Shift: Days/Evenings
Responsibilities
- Review, verify, and enter medication orders accurately and efficiently
- Monitor for drug interactions, contraindications, and medication safety concerns
- Prepare and verify IV medications and sterile compounds
- Support pain management therapies, including patient-controlled analgesia (PCA)
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and pharmacy best practices
- Provide clinical recommendations related to medication therapy management
Required Qualifications
- Active Virginia Pharmacist License required at the time of application
- Minimum of 1 year of inpatient hospital pharmacy experience
- EPIC charting experience required
- IV medication preparation
Preferred Qualifications
- Chemotherapy experience
- Anticoagulation management
- Pharmacokinetic dosing
- Renal dosing
- Previous travel or contract pharmacy experience
