Are you an experienced inpatient pharmacist looking for your next hospital opportunity? We are seeking a skilled Inpatient Pharmacist for a 13-week contract assignment with a respected healthcare facility in Virginia. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside a multidisciplinary clinical team while utilizing your expertise in medication management, order verification, and patient safety.

Assignment Details
Start Date: Late June 2026
Duration: 13 Weeks
Setting: Hospital Inpatient Pharmacy
Schedule: Rotating shifts, including days, evenings, and overnights
Shift: Days/Evenings

Responsibilities

  • Review, verify, and enter medication orders accurately and efficiently
  • Monitor for drug interactions, contraindications, and medication safety concerns
  • Prepare and verify IV medications and sterile compounds
  • Support pain management therapies, including patient-controlled analgesia (PCA)
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and pharmacy best practices
  • Provide clinical recommendations related to medication therapy management

Required Qualifications

  • Active Virginia Pharmacist License required at the time of application
  • Minimum of 1 year of inpatient hospital pharmacy experience
  • EPIC charting experience required 
  • IV medication preparation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Chemotherapy experience
  • Anticoagulation management
  • Pharmacokinetic dosing
  • Renal dosing
  • Previous travel or contract pharmacy experience
