Staff Pharmacist in Norristown, PA

A healthcare institution is seeking a knowledgeable Staff Pharmacist to join their team on a contract basis, from May 4th through August 1st. This role involves working five consecutive 8-hour day shifts, contributing to the safe and effective medication management process.

Location: Norristown, PA
Schedule:

• 5 days per week
• 8-hour day shifts

Responsibilities:

• Review medication orders from physicians and physician extenders to ensure appropriateness of drug, dose, frequency, and route.
• Verify patient allergies, medical history, drug interactions, and lab data to identify potential clinical conflicts before dispensing.
• Manage inventory control to maintain adequate medication supplies.
• Provide drug information and support to healthcare team members.
• Supervise pharmacy students and technicians in medication preparation, ensuring safety and accuracy.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team on patient care planning and discharge processes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from a College of Pharmacy accredited by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education is required; PharmD preferred.
• Pennsylvania Pharmacist License is mandatory.
• At least 1 year of hospital pharmacy experience or Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) in a clinical setting preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is preferred.
