Per Diem Staff Pharmacist in North Tazewell, VA

This per diem opportunity is looking for an experienced pharmacist to provide support in a retail and compounding environment. The role focuses mainly on retail order verification with some involvement in non-sterile compounding, requiring attention to detail and competency in pharmaceutical calculations.

Location: North Tazewell, VA
Schedule: Fridays, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Responsibilities:

• Review and verify retail pharmacy prescriptions primarily using Pioneer RX order entry system
• Conduct checks on non-sterile compounded formulations, performing pharmaceutical math calculations to ensure accuracy
• Support retail operations with accurate and timely verification; limited patient counseling required
• Maintain compliance with pharmacy laws, regulations, and company policies to ensure patient safety

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid Virginia pharmacy license required
• Proven retail pharmacy experience strongly preferred
• Experience or familiarity with non-sterile compounding a valuable asset
• Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced retail setting
• Proficient in medication order review and verification systems
