A position is available for a Licensed Pharmacy Technician to support inpatient pharmacy operations in the Los Angeles area. This opportunity offers full-time work initially, transitioning to a PRN schedule, making it ideal for local candidates seeking flexible hours while contributing critical pharmacy support.

Location:

  • Norwalk, CA (Los Angeles vicinity)

Position Type:

  • Contract

Schedule:

  • Full-time (40 hours/week) for approximately 4 weeks
  • Ongoing PRN availability desired after initial period
  • Rotating shifts alongside other technicians:
    • 07:30 AM to 04:00 PM
    • 12:00 PM to 08:30 PM
    • Weekend shifts: 08:00 AM to 04:30 PM

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately perform IV compounding and manage sterile preparations
  • Fill and maintain Pyxis automated medication dispensing systems
  • Assist with inpatient medication order entry using Paragon/Allscripts systems
  • Collaborate with pharmacy and clinical staff to ensure timely medication delivery
  • Maintain compliance with all pharmacy protocols and state regulations

Qualifications:

  • Valid California Pharmacy Technician license required
  • Demonstrated experience with IV compounding and Pyxis automation
  • Proficiency with electronic order entry systems, preferably Paragon or Allscripts
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work flexible shifts
  • Prior inpatient pharmacy technician experience preferred

Facility Details:

  • Licensed for 117 beds with an average daily census of 44 patients
  • Well-established inpatient pharmacy environment
