A healthcare facility in East Alabama is seeking 2-3 travel pharmacists to support a hospital setting in the Auburn/Opelika region. This opportunity focuses primarily on medication verification with limited sterile compounding duties, welcoming candidates who bring valuable inpatient experience and hospital pharmacy knowledge.
Location: Auburn/Opelika area, AL
Job Type: Contract (13+ weeks or through-the-hire option)
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Day shifts with varied start times between 7:00 AM and 8:00 AM, ending at 4:30 PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify and check medication orders ensuring accuracy and safety
- Collaborate with healthcare team to optimize patient care
- Perform medication dispensing and inventory management as required
- Use Cerner electronic health record system proficiently
- Support sterile compounding tasks as needed (preferred but not required)
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Alabama pharmacist license
- Minimum 6 months to 1 year inpatient hospital pharmacy experience
- Familiarity with Cerner IT system preferred
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced hospital environment
