A full-time pharmacist opportunity is available within a hospital system serving multiple pharmacy locations, including a medical center, hospital, and infusion center in Ventura County, CA. This position requires flexibility to work varied shifts and float between the three distinct pharmacy sites.
Responsibilities include:
- Dispensing medications and managing pharmacy operations across the three facilities
- Handling hazardous medications, including compounding chemotherapy agents, in compliance with safety protocols
- Collaborating with healthcare teams to support patient care within the hospital system
- Maintaining accurate pharmaceutical records and adhering to regulatory standards
- Adapting to variable shift schedules, which may involve 8- to 10-hour shifts, swing shifts, every other weekend coverage, and holiday work
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Licensed pharmacist with valid credentials to practice in California
- Experience in hospital pharmacy settings preferred, particularly with hazardous medication handling and chemotherapy compounding
- Proficiency with electronic health records, especially Cerner, is advantageous; training can be provided if needed
- Willingness and ability to travel among the three local pharmacy locations as operational needs require
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including varied shifts and weekend coverage
