A busy retail pharmacy in Mount Sterling, Kentucky is seeking a full-time Staff Pharmacist to enhance their pharmacy operations. This role offers an engaging environment with a steady volume of approximately 3,000 prescriptions per week and a strong support team of pharmacy technicians. The position involves working four weekdays from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with occasional Saturday shifts (1 to 2 times per month) from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify and accurately dispense prescriptions, ensuring patient safety
  • Provide clear and informative patient counseling and answer medication-related inquiries
  • Oversee pharmacy workflow and collaborate closely with pharmacy technicians
  • Operate the PioneerRx system for efficient prescription processing and management
  • Maintain compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations
  • Support seamless daily pharmacy operations in a fast-paced retail setting
  • Deliver excellent customer service to patients and team members
  • Participate in scheduled Saturday coverage

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Active Kentucky Pharmacist license in good standing
  • Recent experience in a retail pharmacy setting preferred
  • Proficiency with PioneerRx is an advantage
  • Ability to thrive in a high-volume pharmacy environment
  • Strong communication skills and a patient-centered approach
  • Capable of working independently as well as within a cohesive team
  • Willingness to provide Saturday coverage 1 to 2 times per month

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM (four days per week)
  • Saturdays, 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM (1 to 2 times per month)
