Staff Pharmacist in Peosta, IA

A full-time floating retail pharmacist is needed for a 13-week contract assignment starting July 13. This role involves providing pharmacy services across multiple sites in Iowa, including locations within reasonable driving distances of Dubuque: Preston, Bellevue, Independence, and Monticello. The busiest location, Dubuque, processes approximately 2,800 to 3,000 prescriptions daily, while the more rural sites average around 600 prescriptions per day.

Schedule & Hours:

• Monday – Friday, 1st shift (8:00am – 5:00pm or 9:00am – 6:00pm)
• Occasional Saturdays (half-day)

Responsibilities:

• Dispense medications accurately and safely under the direct supervision of the pharmacy manager.
• Counsel and advise patients on medication use and regimens.
• Address patient inquiries, concerns, and complaints according to organizational policies.
• Maintain stock, controlled drug records, and perform inventory management.
• Resolve patient issues and clarify coverage with third-party payers.
• Utilize McKesson Enterprise pharmacy software system efficiently.

Qualifications:

• Active and clear Iowa pharmacist license.
• Minimum of one year of retail pharmacy experience.
• Ability to work comfortably in a fast-paced, high-volume pharmacy environment.
• Willingness and ability to float between multiple pharmacy sites within the designated area.
