An opportunity is available for a Staff Pharmacist to support inpatient pharmacy services at a well-regarded academic medical campus in Philadelphia, PA. This contract role begins in early May and lasts through August, offering consistent daytime shifts.
Responsibilities include reviewing all medication orders from physicians and extenders to ensure accuracy and appropriateness before dispensing. The pharmacist will check for potential clinical conflicts such as allergies, drug interactions, and lab abnormalities. Inventory control and drug information support to the healthcare team are key components. Additionally, you will oversee pharmacy students and technicians, ensuring safe and accurate medication preparation. Collaborative planning for patient discharge and continuity of care with the healthcare team is also integral.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy required; Doctorate of Pharmacy (PharmD) preferred
- Valid Pennsylvania Pharmacist License required
- Minimum of 1 year hospital experience or relevant advanced pharmacy practice experience preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred
Schedule:
- 5 shifts per week, 8 hours each, during daytime hours
