Staff Pharmacist - Philadelphia, PA

A healthcare facility in Philadelphia, PA is seeking a Staff Pharmacist for a contract assignment from May 4th to August 1st, working five 8-hour day shifts. This role focuses on ensuring the safe and effective distribution of medications while supporting the healthcare team with critical pharmaceutical expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and verify medication orders from physicians and physician extenders for accuracy regarding drug choice, dosage, frequency, and administration route.
• Assess patient allergies, medical history, drug interactions, and laboratory data to identify potential clinical conflicts before dispensing medications.
• Manage inventory control to maintain appropriate medication stock levels.
• Provide drug information and support to healthcare team members regarding medication use.
• Supervise pharmacy students and technicians, ensuring accuracy and safety in medication preparation.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to contribute to patient care planning, including discharge planning and continuity of care.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree from a College of Pharmacy accredited by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education is required; Doctorate Degree in Pharmacy (PharmD) preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience working in a hospital or clinical setting, including Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE).
• Active Pennsylvania Pharmacist License.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
