Staff Pharmacist - Philadelphia, PA

An opening for a Staff Pharmacist position is available in Philadelphia, PA. This role is a contract position covering shifts from May 4 to August 1, working five 8-hour day shifts per week. This opportunity involves working within a hospital campus setting and requires strong clinical and operational pharmacy skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review medication orders from physicians and physician extenders to ensure appropriate drug selection, dosage, frequency, and route of administration.
• Assess patient allergies, medical history, potential drug interactions, and lab results to prevent clinical conflicts before dispensing medications.
• Maintain accurate inventory control of pharmaceutical supplies.
• Provide drug information support to healthcare team members.
• Supervise pharmacy students and technicians during medication preparation, ensuring accuracy and patient safety.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team in discharge planning and care continuity.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy required; Doctorate in Pharmacy (PharmD) preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a hospital or clinical setting preferred; Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) considered.
• Valid Pennsylvania Pharmacist license is mandatory.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is preferred.

• Five 8-hour shifts during the day.
