Retail Staff Pharmacist | Phoenix, Arizona

An exciting opportunity is available for two experienced Specialty Pharmacists to join a specialty pharmacy focused on providing rare and orphan drugs to patients with rare diseases. This contract role is ideal for professionals who have specialized experience in a designated specialty pharmacy setting and are skilled in managing complex medication therapies involving rare or high-cost medications.

Location:

• Phoenix, AZ

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, daytime shift

Key Responsibilities:

• Dispense and manage rare/orphan specialty drugs with precision and care
• Collaborate closely with healthcare providers and patients to navigate drug approval processes
• Assist patients with cost management strategies including payment assistance, grants, rebates, and other financial programs
• Provide high-touch communication and clinical support to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain compliance with pharmacy regulations and specialty pharmacy standards

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Must have direct experience working within a specialty pharmacy environment—not purely retail experience with specialty medications
• Strong knowledge of rare/orphan drug therapies and associated patient support programs
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to manage detailed interactions between providers and patients
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment with a focus on patient-centered care

• Contract length is 13 weeks with potential for direct hire
