A specialty pharmacy is seeking two experienced pharmacists with a background in specialty pharmacy operations to support patients with rare and orphan diseases. This contract role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with patients, healthcare providers, and support programs while managing high-cost, complex medications.

Location: Phoenix, AZ
Schedule: Monday through Friday, daytime hours
Contract Length: 13 weeks with potential for direct hire

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dispense and manage rare/orphan specialty drugs with precision and care
  • Assist patients and providers in navigating insurance approvals, payment assistance, grants, rebates, and other support programs
  • Provide high-touch communication and clinical counseling to patients and healthcare teams
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory and specialty pharmacy guidelines
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience working specifically in a specialty pharmacy setting (retail-only experience will not be considered)
  • Strong knowledge of rare disease medications and patient assistance programs
  • Excellent communication skills to manage complex interactions with patients and providers
  • Ability to manage sensitive information and maintain patient confidentiality
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and patient safety
