Retail Staff Pharmacist in Phoenix, AZ

A specialty pharmacy focused on rare and orphan drugs is seeking two experienced Specialty Pharmacists to provide expert care for patients with rare diseases. This contract opportunity offers a dynamic role supporting complex medication therapy management within a highly specialized setting.

Location: Phoenix, AZ
Schedule: Monday to Friday, daytime hours
Contract Duration: 13 weeks, with potential for direct hire

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage dispensing and clinical oversight of high-cost, rare/orphan drug therapies
• Collaborate closely with healthcare providers and patients to facilitate drug approval processes
• Assist patients in navigating insurance, grants, rebates, and other financial assistance programs
• Provide high-touch communication ensuring patient understanding and adherence to therapy
• Maintain clinical documentation and support regulatory compliance specific to specialty pharmacy operations

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

• Previous experience working exclusively in a specialty pharmacy setting
• In-depth knowledge of rare/orphan drug therapies and associated approval/payment challenges
• Strong clinical skills with the ability to counsel patients and providers effectively
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to manage complex patient-provider interactions
• Licensed pharmacist in good standing and eligible to practice in Arizona
