Long Term Care Staff Pharmacist - Porter Ranch, CA

A growing independent pharmacy near Northridge, CA is seeking a part-time pharmacist with expertise in long-term care (LTC) and multi-dose prescription filling. This direct hire opportunity offers a flexible schedule with every other weekend and 2-3 weekday shifts, ideal for candidates looking to complement their professional skills with a balanced workload.

Location: Porter Ranch, CA

Schedule:

• Every other weekend
• 2-3 days during the week

Key Responsibilities:

• Dispense and verify prescriptions following federal and state regulations, including checking dosage, patient allergies, disease states, drug interactions, and formularies
• Provide clinical and therapeutic recommendations to physicians, nurses, and patients as needed
• Respond promptly and professionally to inquiries from client facilities and healthcare providers
• Oversee and support pharmacy technicians to ensure workflow accuracy and efficiency
• Assist in obtaining and verifying necessary billing and documentation information
• Sign for and verify receipt of medications and supplies from wholesalers and suppliers
• Organize, maintain, and audit controlled substance records with accuracy
• Verify and maintain Emergency Kits regarding product accuracy, expiration dates, and conditions
• Support development and adherence to pharmacy safety standards and procedures
• Participate in pharmacy inspections, surveys, and audits by authorized agencies
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

• Current and valid California pharmacist license in good standing
• Experience in long-term care pharmacy and multi-dose prescription filling preferred
• Strong knowledge of pharmacy regulations and clinical pharmacy practice
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to supervise and collaborate with pharmacy technicians effectively
