This opportunity is for a Staff Pharmacist to support medication management and patient care at a respected healthcare campus. The role involves reviewing, verifying, and dispensing medication orders, ensuring accuracy and safety throughout the medication use process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review medication orders from physicians and physician extenders for appropriateness of drug choice, dose, frequency, and administration route
  • Assess patient allergies, medical history, drug interactions, and lab results to identify potential clinical issues
  • Dispense medications accurately and efficiently while maintaining inventory control
  • Provide drug information and clinical support to healthcare team members
  • Supervise pharmacy students and technicians in medication preparation to ensure compliance and safety
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals on discharge planning and continuum of care

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy is required; Doctorate in Pharmacy (PharmD) preferred
  • Active PA Pharmacist License required
  • Minimum 1 year hospital experience or Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) in a clinical setting preferred
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is a plus

Schedule:

  • Contract position starting May 4 through August 1
  • Day shift: 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts

Location:

  • Pottstown, PA (with assignment at a local university healthcare campus)
