Staff Pharmacist | Pottstown, Pennsylvania

A healthcare facility is seeking a skilled Staff Pharmacist for a contract opportunity from May 4 to August 1. This position involves working five 8-hour day shifts and provides an excellent environment to apply and develop clinical pharmacy skills within a collaborative medical team.

Responsibilities include reviewing medication orders from physicians and physician extenders to ensure the appropriateness of drug choice, dosage, frequency, and route of administration. The pharmacist will verify patient allergies, medical history, potential drug interactions, and relevant lab results prior to medication dispensing. Inventory control and providing drug information support to healthcare team members are also key duties. Oversight of pharmacy students and technicians during medication preparation is required to maintain accuracy and safety. Collaboration with the healthcare team on continuum of care and discharge planning rounds out the role.

Desired qualifications and experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy; Doctorate degree (PharmD) preferred
• Active PA Pharmacist license (required)
• Minimum of 1 year hospital pharmacy experience or Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) in a clinical setting preferred
• Basic Life Support certification preferred
